The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to build the data foundation that powers Healf’s next stage of growth. You’ll take ownership of our dbt transformation layer, shape our Snowflake environment, and architect the pipelines that move data from event capture through to analytics and ML use cases.
This role sits at the centre of our data ecosystem, partnering across Product, Engineering, and Analytics to ensure our event streams, warehouse models, and downstream systems operate with reliability, performance, and clear contracts. If you love turning chaos into clarity, designing systems that scale, and raising the engineering bar for an entire organisation, this is your lane.

Where You’ll Make An Impact

•Architect and own Healf’s core dbt models and warehouse layer, transforming messy reality into consistent, reliable, and well-governed datasets.
• Design and strengthen our ingestion and event-driven pipelines (including clickstream and operational data), ensuring resilience, versioning, and scalability.
• Build and optimise our Snowflake environment for performance, governance, and cost efficiency, with a clear understanding of high-volume event data.
• Partner with Engineering to ensure clean data contracts between producers (application/event layer) and consumers (analytics and ML).
• Support ML and experimentation use cases by designing feature-ready datasets with strong point-in-time correctness and data integrity.
• Establish the gold standard for modelling, testing, documentation, monitoring, and analytics engineering best practice across the team.
• Mentor other analytics engineers, levelling up the team and embedding a culture of craftsmanship and ownership.

What You’ll Bring

• Deep experience owning and developing dbt transformation layers at scale.
• Strong data engineering fundamentals, including experience working with event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka or similar), high-volume clickstream data, and pipeline reliability.
• Mastery of SQL and modern data warehousing fundamentals.
• Proven expertise in Snowflake optimisation, including performance tuning, governance, and cost control.
• Experience designing data models that support ML workflows (e.g. feature tables, point-in-time joins, training/inference consistency).
• Hands-on experience with ingestion tooling such as Airbyte, Fivetran, or similar.
• A track record of taking ambiguous business and product requirements and turning them into scalable, production-grade data systems.
• Comfort operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment where you set the bar, not follow it.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience working with streaming platforms (Kafka or equivalent) in production.
• Ecommerce or consumer-tech data exposure, especially in event-heavy D2C environments.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud-native data tooling.
• Prior work building data foundations that directly power ML, experimentation, or personalisation systems.
